All Natural DIY Spring Inspired Cleaners

Updated: Mar 7, 2022

Spring has sprung which means Spring Cleaning is here as well. I both love and dread Spring Cleaning each year. I love how fresh and put together my house looks afterward but boy is it a lot of work getting it there! I am going to share 3 all natural Spring Inspired cleaners with you today. They are all easy, affordable and chemical free so you can feel good about using them in your home plus they do a great job cleaning. For these recipes you will need two 16 oz glass spray bottles and one additional air tight glass container(think bail jar or mason jar), distilled water, baking soda, white vinegar, Thieves cleaner and Citrus Fresh, Orange, Lemon and Lemongrass essential oils. With these few simple ingredients we are going to be able to make cleaners for all the areas in our home and best of all they are effective, easy to make, affordable and all natural to boot!

  1. Spring Multi-Purpose Cleaner - For this recipe you are going to take your 16 oz glass spray bottle and add in two capfuls of Thieves cleaner. Now when I make a normal batch of multi-purpose spray, I usually only use one capful of the Thieves cleaner but when I am doing a deep cleaning for Spring, I like to up it to two capfuls for more

grime cutting power. Once you have added in your two capfuls of Thieves cleaner you will fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Next add in 10-15 drops of Citrus Fresh essential oil to add a nice Spring scent to the cleaner. Citrus fresh is a blend of citrus oils and spearmint making it a great oil to add some additional cleaning power, plus it smells amazing! Now just screw on your spray nozzle, give the bottle a shake and you are good to get cleaning. I use this multi purpose spray in all rooms and on all surfaces in my home with no issue but if you have a particular surface you are concerned about using it on just do a small patch test first.

  1. Spring Soft Scrub- For this recipe you are going to take your mason jar and add in a 3/4 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of Thieves cleaner and 1 Tablespoon of vinegar. Stir until thoroughly combined. Next add in 10 drops of Lemongrass essential oil and stir again. Lemongrass is known for it's refreshing scent as well as it's cleaning power making it ideal for this scrub. If the scrub seems too thick at this point, just add in a little additional Thieves cleaner until the paste is at a consistency that will be easily spreadable. Now your scrub is ready to use. You can either scoop a little out in your hand and spread on the surface you are looking to clean or apply it with a toothbrush(this is the method I prefer). This scrub is great for cleaning your tub/shower and works great on sinks and cook tops as well.

  2. Spring Glass Cleaner- For this recipe you will take your 16 oz glass spray bottle and fill it with 1/4 cup White Vinegar, one capful of Thieves cleaner and then top off with distilled water. Next add in 7-10 drops each Lemon & Orange essential oils. Add on your spray nozzle and shake to combine. Now your glass cleaner is ready to use.

I hope these recipes help you get your house cleaned and in tip top shape & that it sets your mind at ease to know you are using natural cleaners with no harmful side effects.
