My Top 5 Essential Oils For Digestive Support

As someone who has struggled in the digestive area I understand how uncomfortable it can be and how digestive issues can have a negative effect on your daily life. I have spent many a day in and out of public restrooms or missing events completely when my stomach was "out of sorts". Often times, I would end up taking one medication to stop one stomach issue that in turn caused a different stomach issue and became a vicious cycle of feeling pretty uncomfortable most of the time.

As I looked at ways I could help my digestive issues I started to steer away from medication options due to the side effects that inevitable went along with them. My research led me to ways I could support my digestive system naturally, which in turn led me to essential oils.

There are several essential oils that you can usel to support your digestive system. These oils will not only support general digestive help but can also help with nausea, bloating and "tummy" troubles. Below are the oils that I have found to work the best:

All of the Young Living version of these oils can be used aromatically(some don't smell the best so you may or may not choose to diffuse them. Peppermint and Lemon are great for diffusing though and Ginger is nice mixed with a Citrus or Cinnamon or Clove), topically and internally. I say this because not all essential oils are created equally and some from other manufacturers are not safe for internal or topical use so always read your labels when using oils you may not be familiar with.

My go to digestive support roller is 10 drops Digize, 5 drops Peppermint and 5 drops Lemon in a roller bottle along with a carrier oil. I rub this over my abdomen in a clockwise motion as a preventive morning and night.

As far as internal use, You can do a drop under your tongue or a couple of drops of any of these oils in a veggie capsule along with a carrier oil.

Aromatically, Peppermint is amazing for nausea just breathing it in right out of the bottle.

I would recommend looking in to adding a probiotic in to your daily routine as well. I use the Life 9 probiotic from Young Living and it has worked amazingly well for me.

Also, please note, I am not a doctor, if you are have concerns about digestive issues, be sure to do your own research and consult your physician. This is what I have found to work for me through my own research.
