Easy DIY Solid Conditioner Bars

Updated: May 1, 2023

To go along with the solid shampoo bars I shared in my previous post(click here to read) we need a solid conditioner bar to go with it. Solid conditioner bars have all the benefits of a liquid conditioner without the waste and these bars are super easy to make. We will be using a melt & pour conditioner base so this recipe is great for beginner to advanced makers.

For this recipe you will need:

1/8 teaspoon Cheshire Cat Mica or Colorant of Choice

  1. Heat your 8oz of solid conditioner base either in the microwave or on a double boiler until completely melted.

  2. Next stir in approximately 1/8 tsp of your colorant of choice. I used Cheshire Cat from Nurture Soap.

  3. Now stir in your 45 drops of Lavender & 15 drops Sage essential oils. The Lavender essential oil is very calming and relaxing as well as can soothe a sensitive scalp and Sage is great for keeping your hair healthy and shiny.

  4. Stir until well combined and then pour into your silicone mold and allow to cool completely. It took approximately 1 hour for mine to cool.

  5. Store in a cool dry location when not in use.

I apply the conditioner bar directly to my hair and then lather. The conditioner bar won't lather as much as the shampoo bar but still works great and leaves your hair feeling soft without weighing it down.
