All Natural Warming Muscle Rub
Updated: Dec 12, 2022
Did you know that black pepper essential oil is not just for cooking with? It is amazing for helping with pain relief due to it’s warming sensation and anti inflammatory and anti spasmodic properties. It can also curb certain cigarette withdrawal cravings, help with digestion and immune support, calm anxious feelings and more. If this oil is not in your oily arsenal yet, I highly recommend picking it up.

One of my favorite ways to use black pepper essential oil is in a warming muscle rub. Commercial muscle rubs can have a whole slew of ingredients in them that you may not want to be applying to your skin.
You can make your own all natural warming muscle rub with minimal ingredients.
For this recipe you will need :
1/4 cup grapeseed oil or carrier oil of choice
15 drops each Ginger, Clove and Peppermint essential oils
30 drops black pepper essential oil
& 2 tablespoons arrowroot powder

To make gently warm your coconut oil, beeswax and grapeseed oil in a melting pot or double boiler.
Once fully melted, remove from heat and add in your essential oils. If you have sensitive skin I would cut the black pepper back to 20-25 drops.
Stir thoroughly to combine and then pour into an airtight container.
Allow to cool slightly and then stir in your arrow root powder. This helps cut down on any sort of greasy feeling.
Let cool completely before using. Store in a cool dry location.
To use:
Place a small amount of the rub on your fingertips and apply to any sore muscles you may have.
I suggest washing your hands after applying as some of these oils are hot and you don’t want to inadvertently get them in a sensitive area like your eyes:)
