All Natural DIY Face Wash

Updated: Apr 4, 2021

I think that skin care products can often times be the ones that people are the most worried about when switching to an all natural product. Which is kind of ironic as your face is probably one of the top places you want to use an all natural product. All natural for some reason brings on thoughts of it won't actually clean my face or it won't help keep my skin looking the way I want it to look. The truth of the matter is an all natural face wash can be way more effective at keeping your skin healthy and clean than some of the products you would pick up at the store. Many high end skin care brands use botanicals/essential oils in their products but they also use some ingredients you may not want(thickeners, dyes and fragrance to name just a few). It is easy to make an all natural face wash at home and keep it affordable as well as be able to tailor it to your skin. The base of this recipe is 1/3 cup

Castile Soap, 2/3 cup Distilled Water, 1/2 Teaspoon Vitamin E and 1/2 Teaspoon Carrier Oil. I would suggest using either Sweet Almond Oil(this is the one I personally use in this recipe) or Jojoba Oil. Then to really give your face wash some oomph you can add in essential oils. My favorite oils to use in this face wash are Lemongrass, Frankincense, Lavender & Mastrante. Lemongrass is thought to remove impurities and detoxify the skin as well as helping with removing free radicals making it a great oil to use in your skincare. Frankincense is great for soothing your skin, helping with blemishes and is thought to help with cellular turnover in the skin. Lavender is thought to help lighten and soothe the skin as well as fight wrinkles and Mastrante helps with making your skin look radiant and who doesn't want radiant looking skin? If your skin is prone to acne you may also find it beneficial to add in Tea Tree essential oil to your face wash as well. To make the face wash you will simply combine the 1/3 cup of Castile Soap, 2/3 cup Distilled Water, 1/2 teaspoon of Sweet Almond Oil or carrier oil of your choice and 1/2 teaspoon of Vitamin E in a glass foaming soap dispenser. Next you will add

in your essential oils, I do 7-10 drops each of Lemongrass, Frankincense and Lavender Essential Oils and 5 drops of the Mastrante Essential Oil. Gentle swish the mixture together and it is ready to use! Place a couple pumps in the palms of your hands and then apply to your face, avoiding the eye area. Not only does it cleanse and improve your skin but it smells great and it is made with all natural clean ingredients.
